Birgit Thiel is a visual and performing artist, whose recent work includes gel printing. She found inspiration for her unique format in the streets of Vienna, finding her template as an empty aquarium.

From this basis the series SEE (2024) 21x90cm emerged. Gel plates, made with water, glycerin and gelatin, are soft and elastic. Acrylic paints are applied in layers (3-9) with a brayer (paint roller) and then printed on paper. Every print is unique, developing from a process of combined impulsivity and waiting times.
